We have enjoyed a small string of perfect Spring days. In Atlanta, these mild days are as elusive as the Kinder surprise eggs at the local farmer's market. (Note to Kinder eggs: I will find you. And I will eat you. Preferably while making a profitable YouTube video of the whole ordeal.)
Last week, my parents and nephew drove down from North Georgia to visit Stone Mountain Park with us for Spring FUN Break. I can agree that we all had a lot of FUN - all caps because, why not?! We saw a live bird show that had a couple of birds do some pretty adorable tricks.
We hiked up to the top of Stone Mountain to see incredible views of Atlanta and the surrounding areas.
Ok, maybe that's a bit of a stretch. We didn't hike to the top. We took Summit Skyride. Sigh... But Summit Skyride is one of my favorite must-do's when I visit Stone Mountain Park because LOOK AT THE VIEWS!
And best of all - we managed to get back home before rush hour traffic hit. Score!
My generous parents offered to take Danger home with them for a few days so that Dre and I could enjoy some much-needed (and much-appreciated) adult time, doing all the things that adults do best:
- Watching a marathon of The Walking Dead episodes on Netflix.
- Eating lots of yummy Mexican food. Mmmm Tacos!
- Cleaning the house, which is completely impossible to accomplish with a child around.
- And patio-hopping downtown bars and local networking events.
We've experienced some pretty BIG lifestyle changes lately, and it has been so refreshing to have such beautiful weather and supportive family and friends to help take some of the edge of uncertainty away.
I love Atlanta.
